Audience: Anyone needing to maintain or program PowerFlex® 700 Family of Drives. The course is designed for 60% hands-on learning.

Course Outline

Module 1

This module begins with an introduction to the class demo followed by an overview of Alternating Current motor control. Next is a discussion of the fundamentals of AC Drives and the subsections of the AC drive with a brief background of a Variable Frequency Drive. The PowerFlex 755 Drive options will be covered in depth with specifications and features. To conclude the module, wiring, installation & grounding practices are covered.

Module 2

This module will provide a step-by-step approach to using the Human Interface Module (HIM) menu system. The various software tools that can be used with the PowerFlex 755 are discussed. Next, the student will learn to integrate a PowerFlex® 755 drive with a Logix Based PLC. The student will learn to safely and effectively troubleshoot the drive application, as well as how to use job aids to assist in troubleshooting.

The 700 family of drives has several optional modules that are discussed in class. There are various software packages that can be used with the PF drives and these will also be discussed.
